Dese,
Torre quadrata

We know little about Torre di Dese. Some say that it was used in the Middle Ages as look-out post for the control of the busy river traffic that at the time sailed between the in-flowing rivers and the neighbouring lagoon. The tower has a square base, with a section that tapers towards the top, decorated with battlements and simple windows. The structure is in brick while the base and the foundations are in stone, they have some large trachyte boulders inside, probably exported from pre-existent Roman buildings.
