Valle
Zappa,
casone Zappa |
 |
Valle Zappa was once considered one of the richest
marshlands for avifauna and, it is completely embanked (328 he). The present "Cason
Zappa" built in a northern-gothic style reminds one of a Dutch hill-top castle and it
was built between 1925 and 1928 following the project of architect Torres. The nearby
tower is used both as an observatory to sight game and as a tank for water. On the
principal façade the coat-of-arms of "the Casone" which shows three hoes
("zappa" in Italian) stands out. |
