Fort Carpenedo

Behind the "central traverse" we find the attack front which is the principal part of the fort.
Here there were workshops, stores, a refectory, a dormitory and the stables.
The structure is formed by a long basement passage that goes around the whole perimeter, more than 750 metres long, leading to every part of the fort while being sheltered from enemy fire.
In its upper part cannons of heavy calibre were positioned, while at sides smaller pieces were placed for defence in case of siege.
