Roncade,
il Castello

Roncade Castle (TV) , with its boundary walls dominated by four towers, was built on the foundations of an ancient 13th century manor. This castle belongs to the barons Ciani Bassetti. It has recently been restored and it can be visited. (It’s possible to stay in one of the apartments made in three of the towers tel. 0422/708736 ). The castle is the same as the day when it was built, its everyday functions have been maintained. The steps lead to the imposing principal hall of the manor, from which you can see the entire front garden with its 16th century oratory, the 19th century priest’s coach, two huge marble Slaves and more than five hectares of vineyards. The structure of the castle is simple and functional. Two floors with an area of 1800 square metres, wooden-beam ceilings and Venetian terraced floors. Near the two sides of the building there are two “Barchesse “ where you can admire the oak casks from Slavonia where wines are matured today.
